You know Power Up from Microsoft? Why this site exists

Roughly what your practice app looks like. Plus a flow (an automated process) for approvals and an agent (a chat assistant) for questions.

Your path in 7 weeks

First learning path: Getting started with Power Platform. Each week builds on the one before. At the end you have a solution you can show your team.

  1. Week 1: Overview and listList with test data is ready
  2. Week 2: First appFirst app runs on your phone
  3. Week 3: Search and sharingApp runs for a colleague
  4. Week 4: First flowApproval by flow
  5. Week 5: Expressions and errorsReminder runs every weekday
  6. Week 6: First agentAgent answers questions
  7. Week 7: Your projectSolution shown

Before you start

Three points so that week 1 does not fail on the technology.

  • Work or school accountMicrosoft 365 with SharePoint and Power Apps. A personal account such as Outlook.com or Hotmail is not enough.
  • One-minute checkOpen make.powerapps.com and sign in with your work account. If you see the Power Apps home page, you are set.
  • Time in your calendar3 to 4 hours per week, ideally two fixed slots. You can read on your phone, but for practising you need a computer with Edge or Chrome.
Does your company block Power Apps?

Ask your IT for an environment to learn in. A sentence like "I am doing a free learning path on Power Apps and Power Automate and need an environment to practise" usually does it. If you planned to practise with the free Developer Plan, read the note on the practice environment in week 1 first. Go to the note in week 1

Start with week 1

Week 1 takes about 2 h 35 min. Content and duration of every week are on the path overview.

How every week works

Always the same routine. After the first week you know your way around.

  1. Learn

One to three modules on Microsoft Learn. You tick off what you have worked through.

    68 to 113 min
  2. Practise

One hands-on task on the same example that runs through all weeks. At the end you have a solution you can show.

    60 to 120 min
  3. Check

Three or four self-test questions. From week 4 there is also an optional online test.

    10 to 30 min
  4. Connect

In the user group (an open online community meeting), on LinkedIn, or in ongoing 1:1 Dojo Mentoring with a Sensei.

Why this site exists

Microsoft retired its free Power Up programme. On 17 October 2026 powerup.microsoft.com says "Power Up has been retired" and points to Microsoft Learn. Many people without an IT background found their way into Power Platform there.

Microsoft Learn has all the content but no weekly plan and nobody you can ask. This site adds that as independent community work. It is not a Microsoft offer and does not continue Power Up. More on independence

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything?

No. The learning paths, the self-tests and Dojo Mentoring are free. You do not need an account for learning paths. Dojo Mentoring uses a separate account with an email code.

Is this part of Microsoft?

No. This is an independent community initiative by Marcel Lehmann. Microsoft does not operate, sponsor or endorse this site. The learning paths link to freely available content on Microsoft Learn.

Is this Power Up continued?

No. Microsoft retired Power Up and points to Microsoft Learn. This site is a separate offer from the community for anyone who wants a structured start with Power Platform, whether they knew Power Up or not.

Do I get a certificate or an exam voucher?

There is no voucher. At the end you issue yourself a completion confirmation from Power Platform Dojo. It is not a Microsoft certification. The learning path explains how to go on to the PL-900 exam or an Applied Skill.
